The Goal

By: Eliyahu M. Goldratt and Jeff Cox

The Goal

This classic fable captures the audience and takes them on a journey of discovery of ongoing improvement and theories of constraint in manufacturing.

Although the story is about manufacturing and its main characters apply their learning in that setting, service companies can gain great benefit from the concepts unpacked in this book.

Alex Rogo, the plant manager of a failing operation, meets Jonah, who takes Alex through a series of exercises to help him learn more about the goal of his operation, removing constraints and increasing capacity.

Time Magazine listed this as one of the “Top 25 Most Influential Business Management Books.”
