Tipping Point, probably his best seller, launched Malcolm Gladwell onto the scene, as one of our more thoughtful and insightful social and economic observationists. Outliers: The Story of Success stands tall in Gladwell’s collection of best sellers.
In a creative, but deliberate approach to understanding how some become successful, while others struggle, Gladwell weaves stories about the launch of modern technology, The Beatles and professional hockey players, to name a few. He discusses what it takes to develop talent, discussing the 10,000 hour rule.
As are most of his texts, Outliers: The Story of Success is a must read. It won’t take long because once you start, it is hard to put down.
